Problem

RENK faced several challenges in its daily parking management. At various locations, there was no clear overview of the utilization of around 400 parking spaces. Managing parking permits was entirely manual and caused a significant workload, as over 1,300 employees and numerous visitors had to be accounted for. In addition, the allocation of parking rights was confusing and regularly led to uncertainty.

With the growing need for charging points for electric vehicles, another problem arose. Parking space and charging infrastructure were organized separately, leading to extra effort in billing, access, and administration. An integrated solution that combines both was urgently needed to create efficiency and transparency.

Solution

RENK introduced ParkEfficient, digitizing its entire parking management system. A real-time dashboard provides a clear view of current utilization and enables transparent, data-driven planning. Bookings for employees and visitors are handled automatically via the app, which significantly reduces administrative effort. License plate recognition also enables smooth and fast entry.

At the same time, the modular charging infrastructure from ChargeX was integrated. This allows charging points to be scaled flexibly and the distribution of available charging power to be controlled intelligently. All charging-related functions are integrated directly into the ParkEfficient app. This creates a centralized solution for parking and charging infrastructure that offers clear advantages for both users and management.

Results

The added value became apparent quickly after implementation. Parking space utilization improved noticeably as available areas were distributed more efficiently. The facility management department benefited from automated processes and a clear reduction in costs due to the elimination of manual administration.

Electromobility was also optimized. Dynamic load management enables much more efficient use of the charging infrastructure without the need for additional grid capacity or expensive structural modifications.
